Director - GAMMAF amateur ( GAMMAF-AM): MIKHAIL MAKHNEV
Mikhail Makhnev was born in Pervouralsk, Sverdlovsk Russia, and started his martial arts training with Jiu Jitsu in 1998. Over his years of martial arts training, Mikhail trained and actively competed in jiu-jitsu, pankration, and MMA, and won many national and international tournaments before twice winning the MMA world championships and receiving the 4th dan black belt in jiu-jitsu.
In 2008 Mikhail focused on his teaching career and coached many national, international, and world champions to victory. In 2012, Mikhail created the Association of Mixed Martial Arts "Universal Fighters" which developed the career of MMA athletes in Russia and helped unite coaches and instructors within the sport in Russia. In 2017, he headed the Federation of Mixed Martial Arts of the Sverdlovsk region. In 2022, Makhnev as one of the founders of the Russian Mixed Martial Arts Federation was appointed its general director.
In January 2023 Mikhail joined GAMMAF as chief representative for Russia, traveled to India for the GAMMAF conference on March 29th, met with GAMMAF world President Dan Isaac and on May 12th, 2023 he was appointed as the Director of the newly formed amateur division of GAMMAF or GAMMAF-AM. Mikhail will be responsible for planning and developing the GAMMAF amateur circuit including World Cup, International Championships, and World Championships worldwide.
